ROUND-UP: The best Canadian music forums

One of the best things about the internet is that you can make friends with people who like the same stuff as you. Here at Firebrand, we're kind of into music. Below is our round-up of cool Ontario-based forums where you can hang out and make friends with people who like the same music as you, and you can maybe even go to a show together!

A community of indie music addicts from all over Canada, the Toronto section is especially good for show reviews, file sharing, and restaurant recommendations. Bands they like: the ones you've never heard of.

Let's face it: the hardcore scene has changed a lot in the past 5 years. You don't even have to listen to hardcore to associate with it, and former obsessive hardcore heads are now branching out and checking out other genres. The Toronto Hardcore forum is a fairly good representation of this, with an older audience sharing info about cool shows for bands as diverse as Tyvek and Inepsy, and hanging out.

Although the 905 board is not strictly a music forum, there are apparently a ton of 905ers who want to talk about it, and there's usually pretty good equipment up for sale here. Also, if you're a gamer, you'll definitely find some new buddies to play Call of Duty with.

The most organized of the blogs listed, this one also features the youngest audience. One of my favourite parts about Toronto Music Scene is their "Promotions" section, which exists solely so that you can try and get people to listen to your band. Encouraged spamming is awesome!
